I’m a multi-award winning Director who has been making television and brand-based content around the world for the last seventeen years. I am a storyteller with a creative eye who understands every facet of content creation. I know how to help brands tell their unique story in a crowded marketplace and how to get content that an audience will lap up. I do it all with a cheeky Kiwi sensibility paired with international flavour.
I learnt my craft working in production on New Zealand’s most respected music television series Squeeze and later honed my skills on the pioneering late night music series, Space. Very quickly I became a well respected editor, cameraman and finally a director.
In 2005, I moved to London to direct, shoot and edit numerous international pop culture music series and documentaries, including Channel4’s staples Popworld and Transmission and the BBC’s The Clothes Show. I also directed the first documentary for the now famous UK magician, Dynamo. Whilst based in the UK I worked for Red Bull covering their exciting annual Music Academy in Cape Town, Seattle & Rome, which ended with me producing their worldwide documentary Inside looking Out.
After returning to New Zealand in 2007, I co-founded the critically acclaimed production company Two Heads with long-time friend Nick Ward. We made a name for ourselves producing fresh and quirky documentaries, TV series and formats, all of which I directed. Some of the more notable titles include Making Tracks, A Night at The Classic, Funny Roots, and the award-winning rating smash hit The Food Truck. The majority of our shows have gone on to be sold worldwide with The Food Truck format being picked up in the US by the Cooking Channel. The Food Truck television show phenomenon quickly turned into a successful fast food restaurant spin off called Food Truck Garage created, run and marketed by Two Heads and which has picked up numerous awards in the process.
In 2015 I accepted a role at Augusto Media as their Senior Director creating content and Television adverts for brands such as AIG, Adidas, Samsung, Hyundai, Mitre 10 and Wendy’s to name a few.
This year I arrived in Los Angeles to seek out bigger and better opportunities for myself as a director and my company, in the home of it all.
